Advanced Technical Ceramics
Advanced technical ceramic parts are used in harsh environments in which resistance to wear and corrosion and high mechanical performance are of primary importance. Zirconia-based materials are the best solution for these types of applications due to their excellent bending strength and toughness, superior hardness and resistance to corrosive environments.
Four main zirconium dioxide-based materials are utilized for the manufacturing of advanced technical ceramics: yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ), magnesia partially stabilized zirconia (MgPSZ), zirconia-toughened alumina (ZTA) and alumina-toughened zirconia (ATZ).
