Advanced Technical Ceramics
Advanced technical ceramic parts are used in harsh environments in which resistance to wear and corrosion and high mechanical performance are of primary importance. Zirconia-based materials are the best solution for these types of applications due to their excellent bending strength and toughness, superior hardness and resistance to corrosive environments. Four main zirconium dioxide-based materials are utilized for the manufacturing of advanced technical ceramics:
- Yttria-Stabilized Zirconia (YSZ)
- Magnesia Partially Stabilized Zirconia (MgPSZ)
- Zirconia-Toughened Alumina (ZTA)
- Alumina-Toughened Zirconia (ATZ)
The ceramic industry’s choice for decades in the manufacture of MgPSZ, ATZ and ZTA parts, ZirPro’s monoclinic zirconia powders offer a market-leading variety of particle sizes and shapes, chemical purity from 97.0% (CC, CF and CS) to 99.99% (CZ, CZP and CZE), and reactivity ranging from 1 m²/g to 25 m²/g.
