    Pigments, Dyes & Dispersions

ZirPro ceramic beads enable to obtain high color strengths
We live in a world of color often generated by synthetic pigments and dyes. The base materials can be organic or inorganic and require milling as part of their initial production process. To facilitate incorporation into paints and coatings, pigments and dyes usually are supplied in a pre-dispersed form. Pigment producers are focused on long production runs, while dispersion specialists mix pigments by batch and require fast turnaround.

Saint-Gobain ZirPro has been supplying high-quality ceramic media to the pigments, dyes and dispersions industries for more than 40 years. ZirPro offers a market-leading range of media (ER120, Rimax®, Zirmil®Ce and Zirmil®Y) to meet the exacting demands of grinding and dispersing processes. Selection of the optimum bead (density and size) is critical, as color strength is closely linked to the achieved grind. ZirPro also provides a unique level of after-sales and technical support.

    Easier cleaning and faster turnaround

ZirPro grinding media surface remains smooth

Surface finishing of the grinding media is key due to its considerable effect on cleaning times. ZirPro provides grinding media with surfaces that remain smooth during the life of the bead, resulting in reduced cleaning cycles and faster mill turnaround. In addition, superior bead finish reduces friction and limits heat generation.

    Highest specification and quality standards

    ER120 and Rimax ceramic beads

With 4.0 g/cc density, zirconium silicate beads are the standard for primary milling and dispersion. ER120 is well suited for large horizontal mills grinding fine products. With its superior toughness, Rimax is recommended for basket mills.

    Zirmil ceramic beads

Due to their superior performance and long life, the Zirmil family of beads optimizes performance in all types of mills. Zirmil Ce is an economic option for large mills. Zirmil Y is the premier choice for high-energy or recirculation mills.
