Ceramics, Electronics & Batteries

Lithium Batteries Charging
The milling of ceramic pigments, oxides or compounds for electronics and batteries has a number of features in common. Suspensions are mostly water-based and contain hard and abrasive materials. Contamination is critical and target grinds are precise, ranging from microns to nanometers with tight PSD. In such conditions, wear of beads can be significant and roundness of the beads has to be retained for extended periods.

Saint-Gobain ZirPro supplies high-quality ceramic beads to the ceramic, electronic and battery industries with a full range of grinding media: Zirmil® Y and Zirmil® Ce, ER120, Rimax®. Zirmil Y is recognized as the reference for high-demanding and precision milling. ZirPro also offers a unique level of after-sales and technical support.

A proven partner

ZirPro has a long history of serving the ceramic industry through the supply of customized zirconium oxide raw materials. Based on its experience and understanding of process requirements, ZirPro is the partner of choice to supply advanced grinding media to meet the developing requirements for precision wet milling of technical ceramic powders.

ZirPro has a long experience in ceramic industry

Zirmil Y for ultrafine grinding

For ceramic slurries, the last decade has seen a rapid development of  ultrafine or nano milling, either in ultimate dispersion process to reach primary particles size level or in ultimate grinding of particles to reduce their size. Efficient grinding on such small target particles requires a precision bead that retains its size and shape for extended operation periods. Zirmil Y has a proven track record and is available in all appropriate sizes from 100µm.

Precision beads are required for nano milling

Market-leading range of ceramic media

ER120 & Rimax ceramic beads

With 4.0 g/cc density, zirconium silicate ER120 and Rimax beads are ideal for the manufacturing of washcoats and enamels.

Zirmil ceramic beads

The Zirmil Y premium product is the best choice for all technical and low-contamination milling processes. Zirmil Y features narrow size distribution and extended life, which are key success factors to guarantee precision milling.
